PRODUCTION MANAGER

£30k – £38k per annum (based on experience), plus overtime

Kirk Signs Ltd is a North West based signs, designs and graphics company located in Liverpool offering a wide range of signage across the UK.

​Further to a major investment in our fabrication workshop and as part of our business expansion, we are looking for an experienced Production Manager to join our in-house manufacturing department. The role will mainly be focused on the operation of fabricating signage and lettering through welding and various sheet metal work, with an element of vinyl graphic application.

We expect the successful candidate to work at a very high standard, be organised and have a keen eye for detail.

​​Key responsibilities:

  • Read and understand all production job sheets and distribute to departments accordingly
  • Plan installation schedules with our own in-house fitters and external contractors
  • Work with a small team within the workshop to ensure deadlines are met
  • Undertake quality inspections throughout the manufacturing process
  • Liaise with the internal sales department
  • Liaise with clients via email and telephone
  • Work closely with our health and safety company to ensure all areas are working safely
  • Provide workshop staff with training and toolbox talks when required
  • Ensure RAMS are followed and completed​

Skills required:

  • Previous experience in a fabrication environment is essential
  • Strong leadership and organisational abilities
  • Good communicator with staff on all levels
  • Computer literacy is essential – experience with Clarity, Microsoft Office, Corel and Adobe would be beneficial
  • Experience with using CNC router / CNC Brake Press / CNC Guillotine
  • Experience with MIG / TIG welding equipment
  • Experience with signage finishing
  • Ability to understand complex drawings
  • Experience with LED lighting and general electrics
  • Must have experience in a similar environment and be able to work unsupervised
  • Work to a very high standard and have a keen eye for detail
  • Full clean driving license is essential

SIGN FABRICATOR / WELDER

£24k – £28k per annum (based on experience), plus overtime

Further to a major investment in our fabrication workshop and as part of our business expansion, we are looking for an experienced sign maker / fabricator to join our in-house manufacturing department. The role will mainly be focused on the fabrication of signage and lettering through welding and various sheet metal work, and will have an element of vinyl graphic application.

We expect the successful candidate to work at a very high standard and have a keen eye for detail.

Key responsibilities:

  • Fabricating various signage from steel, aluminium and ACM
  • Welding, dressing and preparing signage for powder coating / wet spraying
  • Fabrication of metal structures to support a variety of signage systems
  • Maintaining specifications by ensuring all production processes are carried out to standard and correctly
  • Scheduling your own work to ensure production and installation deadlines are met
  • Maintaining in-house machinery by completing routine maintenance checks
  • Maintaining stock levels
  • Ensuring safe working practices

Skills required:

  • Previous experience in a fabrication environment
  • Experience with using CNC router / CNC Brake Press / CNC Guillotine
  • Experienced MIG / TIG welder

VINYL & PRINT TECHNICIAN

£24k – £28k per annum (based on experience), plus overtime

Kirk Signs Ltd is a North West based signs, designs and graphics company located in Liverpool offering a wide range of signage across the UK.​

Further to a major investment in our vinyl and print workshop and as part of our business expansion, we are looking for an experienced Vinyl & Print Technician to join our team. The role will mainly be focused on the production and application of vinyl graphics and wide format printed signage – through the operation of vinyl plotters, Latex / Solvent wide format printers and the use of laminators.  The successful candidate will work predominantly from our Liverpool base, some UK travel may be required

We expect the successful candidate to be trained within vehicle wrapping, work at a very high standard and have a keen eye for detail.

Key responsibilities:

  • Production and installation of all types of CAD/printable vinyl materials
  • Installation of all types of CAD/printable vinyl materials to a wide range of substrates – panels, windows, walls etc…to a very high standard
  • Installation of all types of vehicle branding – including full vinyl wraps
  • Preparation of substrates and vehicles ready for vinyl application
  • Maintaining specifications by ensuring all production processes are carried out to standard and correctly
  • Scheduling your own work to ensure production and installation deadlines are met
  • Maintaining in-house equipment by completing routine maintenance checks
  • Maintaining stock levels
  • Ensure RAMS are followed and completed, informing your line manager of any changes

Skills required:

  • Must have experience in a similar environment and be able to work unsupervised
  • Proven experience with wrapping vehicles to a high standard is essential
  • Working knowledge of the signage industry is essential
  • Computer literacy is essential – experience with Clarity, Onyx RIP, Microsoft Office, Corel and Adobe would be beneficial
  • Must have experience with using wide format printers, vinyl plotters and laminators
  • Ability to understand complex drawings
  • Work to a very high standard and have a keen eye for detail
  • Full clean driving license is essential
  • Able to work at heights
  • CSCS, IPAF, PASMA and/or SSSTS accreditation would be an advantage but not necessary as training can be given.​​

SIGN FITTERS MATE

£16k – £20k per annum (based on experience), plus overtime

Kirk Signs Ltd is a North West based signs, designs and graphics company located in Liverpool offering a wide range of signage across the UK.​

Further to a major investment within our production workshops and as part of our business expansion, we are looking for a Sign Fitters Mate to join our installation team. The role will mainly be focused on assisting our lead fitter onsite at client locations, installing all aspects of signage and vinyl graphics.  The successful candidate will work predominantly onsite within the North West, with some UK travel and overnight stays required from time to time.

We expect the successful candidate to be willing to learn, be good with their hands, work at a very high standard and have a keen eye for detail.  Training will be provided where required within this role.

Key responsibilities:

  • Assist lead fitter with the installation of various signage systems and vinyl graphics
  • This can be a physically demanding job and you will be required to work on site and sometimes in the fabrication shop.
  • Operate light machinery and tools
  • Work at height / scaffolding and access equipment
  • UK coverage, working away from home when required
  • Maintaining equipment within the installation vehicle, by completing routine maintenance checks
  • Ensure RAMS are followed and completed, informing your line manager of any changes

Skills required:

  • Experience in a similar role would be beneficial
  • Ability to understand complex drawings
  • Work to a very high standard and have a keen eye for detail
  • Excellent punctuality and attendance is essential – working days can sometimes start at 7am
  • Able to work at heights
  • CSCS, IPAF, PASMA and/or SSSTS accreditation would be an advantage but not necessary as training can be given.
  • Full clean driving license would be beneficial​
